Community Features Terms of Service
These terms apply when you use free community features on eVehicleMatch (squads, races, stores, events, chat, reviews, waivers, and related tools). If you purchase from the marketplace, see our general Terms of Service. If you sell on the marketplace as a vendor, see the Vendor Agreement (and the general Terms of Service). If you make a paid contribution to a community (raffle, registration, etc.), see the Community Contributions Terms of Service.

These Community Features Terms ("Community Terms") supplement the general Terms of Service available at /terms. By using community features—whether or not you pay for anything—you agree to these Community Terms. Capitalized terms used in the general Terms of Service have the same meaning here unless otherwise defined.
1. Scope
These Community Terms apply to non-paid use of community functionality, including but not limited to: browsing community profiles; following locations; requesting or holding membership; RSVPs and event notifications; location reviews and ratings; community documents; waiver campaigns and electronic signing flows; community chat; suggestions and other user submissions; and related social or coordination features we may offer.
Paid contributions (for example, paid raffle entries or paid event registrations settled to a community Stripe account) are governed by the Community Contributions Terms of Service, not by this Section alone.
1.1 Platform role; monitoring and organizer responsibility
eVehicleMatch provides software and hosting so communities can self-organize. We do not supervise every message, event, ride, or interaction in real time, and we cannot guarantee the actions of organizers, members, or guests. Community administrators may set their own rules where consistent with these terms and applicable law. You are responsible for your own conduct and for assessing risks when participating online or in person; offline activities organized through the platform remain solely between participants and organizers except where we explicitly provide a separate service.
2. Acceptable use and conduct
You agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, abuse, defame, or discriminate against others.
- Post or transmit unlawful, fraudulent, hateful, or sexually exploitative content.
- Dox or attempt to collect personal information about users without consent.
- Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with a community or event.
- Use community features to spam, phish, or distribute malware.
- Circumvent security, scrape data at scale without permission, or overload our systems.
Community administrators may moderate membership and content according to their own rules, consistent with our policies and applicable law.
3. User-generated content
You may submit content such as reviews, comments, photos, chat messages (including encrypted payloads and associated metadata), and files ("Community Content"). You retain ownership of your intellectual property rights in Community Content you submit. By submitting Community Content, you grant eVehicleMatch a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, modify for formatting or security purposes, display, and distribute such content solely as necessary to operate and improve the community features and to enforce these terms.
You represent that your Community Content does not infringe third-party rights and complies with law. We may remove or restrict Community Content that violates these Community Terms, the general Terms of Service, or law, or that we reasonably believe creates risk for users or the platform.
4. End-to-end encrypted chat
Where we offer end-to-end encrypted community chat, message payloads are encrypted on your device before transmission. eVehicleMatch does not hold the keys necessary to read your messages in plaintext. You are responsible for safeguarding your devices and keys; if you lose access to keys or sync material, we may be unable to recover your message history. Cross-device key synchronization, if offered, carries inherent security tradeoffs you accept by using that feature.
We may still process metadata (such as timestamps, membership checks, or abuse reports) necessary to deliver the service and maintain safety.
5. Reviews
Reviews should reflect honest, first-hand experience. You must not manipulate ratings, coordinate inauthentic reviews, or accept undisclosed compensation for reviews. We may remove reviews that violate these standards or applicable law.
6. Waivers, documents, and campaigns
Communities may publish documents (for example, ride rules, waivers, codes of conduct) and run waiver campaigns. When you sign electronically through our flows, your agreement is directly between you (or your guardian) and the community organizer responsible for that campaign—not a separate contract with eVehicleMatch for the substantive waiver obligations (release of liability, assumption of risk, etc.). We provide technology that records execution for audit purposes (such as document version, timestamp, and signer identity data submitted through the flow).
You must read each document carefully before signing. If you do not agree, do not participate in the event or activity.
7. Minors and guardians
When a community enables minor participation modes, a parent or legal guardian may be required to provide information and consent. The guardian is responsible for the minor's compliance with community rules, waivers, and event safety. eVehicleMatch does not act in loco parentis.
8. Membership, ownership, and moderation
Joining a community or following a location does not give you ownership of the community or its data. Admins and owners may remove members, adjust roles, or restrict access in line with their policies and these terms. We may also suspend access for platform-level violations.
9. Events, rides, and safety
Events, rideouts, races, and meetups are organized by communities and participants, not by eVehicleMatch. You participate at your own risk. We do not inspect routes, equipment, weather, or participant skill; we do not guarantee insurance coverage, supervision, or emergency response. You are solely responsible for complying with traffic laws, helmet and safety rules, and prudent riding practices. Electric vehicles carry inherent risks, including serious injury or death.
10. Third-party services
Communities may link to or integrate third-party services (for example, Telegram channels, social networks, or maps). Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. eVehicleMatch is not responsible for third-party content or availability.
11. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy describes how we collect and use personal information. Community features may expose limited profile or activity information to other members (for example, RSVP status or membership lists, depending on product settings). Do not share sensitive information in public areas if you do not accept that risk.
12. Prohibited activities (community surfaces)
Without limiting the general Terms of Service, you agree not to use community features for illegal activity, intellectual-property infringement, stalking, unauthorized commercial solicitation in violation of our policies, or to build a competing service using scraped community data.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless eVehicleMatch and its affiliates from claims arising out of your Community Content, your attendance at events, your breach of these Community Terms, or your violation of law, except to the extent caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct.
14. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your ability to use community features for violations of these Community Terms or the general Terms of Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including intellectual-property licenses for content already submitted, indemnification, and limitation of liability) survive termination.
15. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, EVEHICLEMATCH SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF FREE COMMUNITY FEATURES OR PARTICIPATION IN COMMUNITY EVENTS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS RELATING TO THESE COMMUNITY TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100) OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US SPECIFICALLY FOR COMMUNITY FEATURES IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, WHICHEVER IS GREATER (WHICH MAY BE ZERO IF YOU ONLY USE FREE FEATURES), EXCEPT WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW.
16. Governing law
These Community Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, excluding conflict-of-law principles. Venue lies in the courts described in the general Terms of Service unless prohibited by law.
17. Changes
We may revise these Community Terms by posting an updated version on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance unless applicable law requires otherwise.
